I love pretty packaging for skincare products! Actually, anything shiny and high end always catches my eye. Since I was little, I've been fascinated with fragrances, the texture of lotions and the frothiness of bubbles. Maybe it's because all those qualities in products are something I can't use!

Blessed with extremely sensitive skin, I'm limited to the functional items packed in generic bottles. Nothing fancy about my perscription eczema lotion or cetaphil face wash.

I've learned to embrace my skin qualities and have found a few, botanical, single ingredient products that work well for me. It seems that less is truly more.

Here is a list of my favorite, botanical skincare products that I use daily...

  1. Rosewater Rosewater can relieve irritated skin, reduce redness( I've got that too), has antibacterial qualities, has pro aging qualities and hydrates the skin. I like to use rosewater in a spritz form as a facial and body spray.

  2. Argan Oil Argan oil has a multitude of benefits as a cleanser, moisturizer and hair serum. The golden oil contains Omega-3 fatty acids which is key in reducing inflammation ( got that too!) and helps repair skin damage. I like to oil my scalp and hair for the day and then wash it out in the evening. AMAZING!!

  3. Shea Butter Shea butter is another essential product I use daily. It's very thick but once it warms between your palms becomes a glorious oil. This butter works wonders on dry skin, lips, feet and hands but don't put it in your hair! I tried that once and it took a long time to wash out. It seems to create a moisture barrier on the skin, similar to Vaseline or Aquaphor, which is why it wouldn't wash out of my hair! Shea Butter is a source of fatty acid and excellent in protecting dry skin.
