Charting your Garden

I was recently introduced to the idea of charting my garden. It's recording what flowers bloom when and for how long. Its important to add specifics to each flower note, such as height and color. By charting your garden throughout the seasons you will be able to notice lapses and gaps in your garden. For example, there is a bloomless time in my yard after the tulips are finished and before the peonies begin to bud. Incorporating Drumstick Alliums, which bloom in late spring, to that space will bridge the gap. Attached you will find a chart that I use to record the flower's blooming time. I just add a dot for each month that plant is in bloom and then connect the dots. It's been a fun and interesting resource.

I've been working with Leslie for 2 years and I now have three of the most beautiful flower gardens! She helped us create a landscape and planting plan. Then turned my brown thumb into a growing powerhouse by recommending the right plants and flower for our home. She also gave help tips on keeping the plant health and keeping the deer away. Highly recommend.
