Making a garden wreath is a fun way to welcome each season. Using a grapevine wreath as the base I will add seasonal interest such as evergreens for winter, maple leaves for fall and, of course, hydrangea blooms in summer! Here are step by step directions to follow to make a lovely hydrangea memento that will dry beautifully.

  1. Use a 12 inch or 16inch diameter grapevine wreath as the base.

  2. Walk around your garden and look for hydrangea branches that may be leaning from the blossom's weight. Trimming these branches help the overall health of the shrub.

  3. Clip blooms , right above a leaf node, with at least 6 inches of bloom stem.

  4. Strip the stems of all leaves and then start poking the branches into the grapevine wreath.

  5. You can place all the stems at the same angle into the wreath for a uniform and balanced look.

  6. Turn over the wreath and trim any stems sticking out of the wreath base.

  7. Hang in a location where you are sure to appreciate the glorious blooms.

  8. It will dry over the next few weeks and then it will be an everlasting dried floral wreath.
